The Ebiosec, Inc. company founders are Kregg Philpott and Laura Adam.

Philpott (kapmetis.com) has been consulting and working in startups since 2008 as an engineer and programmer. With a background in Physics and Electrical Engineering, he has a lot of varied experience from lasers and optics to printed circuit board design, firmware, data analysis/algorithms, user interface software, and more. Recently he has headed the Data Science team at OneBridge Solutions Inc., using data science to replace laborious and error-prone manual data analysis in a different industry. Philpott is part of the Ebiosec team to provide his expertise with data science. His role is to improve the performance of our data system, create algorithms to automatically annotate the data, classify it, create data indexes, and more. In the long term, Ebiosec will gather many kinds of data and he is responsible for many of the data integration activities.

Dr. Adam (ladam.info) has been doing research in the field of synthetic biology since 2008. Dr. Adam started Ebiosec, Inc after her postdoctoral research at the University of Washington. She has been developing software tools for synthetic biologists for design, construction, and analysis, including GenoCAD – one of the first computer assisted design tool for synthetic DNA. She worked on reprogramming yeast spatiotemporal development in the wet lab and has been building several computational tools to help her with her with automating her work. Adam is part of the biodesign automation community. She informed US governmental agencies on bioinformatics solutions to mitigate biosecurity risks, as well as participated in the synthetic biology open language (SBOL).
